Bayanzag - Flaming Cliffs

Bayanzag is located near Bulgan sum. Archeaological finds of the Paleolithic Era, which are displayed in the natural history museum of Ulaanbaatar, were found here. Roy Chapman Andrews, a world famous explorer, discovered petrified forest remains of mammals, in particular the skeleton of a hornless rhinoceros, the largest known mammal in the world. Other finds in this location are complete dinosaur skeletons, eggs with a diameter of 10-15cm from the Cretaceous Period, and saxual forests known as Gobi forests.
