Khorgo and Terhiin Tsagaan Nuur National Park
Khorgo uul is a dead volcano which lies on the east of lake Terhiin Tsagaan Nuur in Arkhangai Aimak. The National park covers 28sq.kms, holding the Togoo Uul, which is 2,240metres above sea level, and the Hill of the Lake Terhiiin Tsagaan Nuur. It has been partly protected since 1965, and fully since 1994, to safeguard the spectacular mountain scenery and the endangered fauna and flora. Red deer, Sibirian Deer, Wild Boar, Ruddy Shelduck and Duck are amongst the many animals to be found inside the national park.Great Mormorant commonly nestle in the summer at the lake of Terhiin Tsagaan Nuur. |
