Khongor els - Big Sand Dune and Oasis

A sand dune named Khongor Els has an extraordinary length of 180kms. The dune is15-20kms wide and lies on the northern part of the mountains of Sevrei and Zuulun. The huge sand dune is part of the desert zone, which takes up 2.7% of the country’s territory. There is an oasis near the Khongor river at the northern edge of the sand dune.
